Witness Heard An Explosion Before Crane on Jalan Gubeng Ambruk
Rakyat Utama. An eyewitness named Yulianto claimed to have heard an explosion before the project crane on Jalan Gubeng, Surabaya, collapsed. According to Yulianto, after the explosion, the Jalan Gubeng section collapsed.
"It happened around 9:30 a.m. WIB, very fast. There was an explosion before the ground collapsed. The sound of the explosion from the direction of the project crane," Tuesday (12/18/2018).
During the incident, Yulianto was in the BNI 46 building, where he worked. The building is next to the ground that is sinking.
"When the crane crashed, it didn't rain, the road was deserted. There were no vehicles right on the road that collapsed. So when the crane fell, the vehicle immediately turned back," he continued.
But Yulianto did not know whether there was still work on the project at that time. He did see some workers at the project site.
"Nothing, I don't see any project workers," Yulianto said.
Yulianto said that the people's panic actually happened after the road subsidence. Workers who are still in the building around the location immediately run out.
"Yes, all panicked because of the sinking, it was thought lindu (earthquake). But I did not participate, just panicking. Because when I happened outside (in front of the building). I had taken the employee's car from the basement of the building," he explained .
