The Logung Dam Project Takes IDR 620 Billion

Jurnal Utama. The Logung Dam project in Tanjungrejo Village, Jekulo District, Kudus Regency, Central Java, cost IDR 620 billion.

The development of its development has now entered the initial stage of filling (impounding) which was officially carried out on Tuesday (12/18/2018).

The impounding procession was attended by the Director General of Water Resources (SDA) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Hari Suprayogi, Kudus Regent, M Tamzil and other officials from the Ministry of PUPR.

Logung Dam was built in 2014, with KSO contractor PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT Nindya Karya (Persero) executing, Logung Dam designed as high as 55 meters and 350 meters long with a water capacity of 20.15 million cubic meters. The effective volume is 13.72 million cubic meters.

Director General of SDA Hari Suprayogi said, Logung Dam is one of 65 dams built by the Ministry of PUPR. The construction of the Logung Dam takes around 5 years.

"The construction of the Logung dam began in 2014 with an implementation period of 1,460 calendar days until 2018," said Hari.

Logung Dam is planned to be able to meet irrigation water needs for a potential land with a maximum of 5,296 hectares consisting of existing irrigation area of ​​2,805 ha and irrigation development of 2,491 hectares in the Kudus Regency area and increasing productivity of rice plants.

In addition, Logung Dam is expected to be able to meet the raw water needs of 200 liters / second in urban and rural areas in Kudus Regency, as well as flood control and micro hydro power plants of 0.50 MW.

"Logung Dam is realized to realize national food and water needs. Especially for agriculture, community water needs and reduce flooding," said Hari.

Kudus Regent M Tamzil appreciated the realization of Logung Dam following the positive impact on the community.

"Logung dams are very beneficial to the agricultural sector and flood control," Tamzil said.
